Minutes of TEAM REPS. MEETING, 7 pm Monday, 23rd. Aug. 2004 at the Les Passmore Centre

AGENDA

1)  ROLLCALL
Absent teams: Athletics, Bays United

3) READING OF MINS. OF LAST MEETING

     Mins adopted

4)  BUSINESS ARISING OUT OF MINS.
  • Mill Bay refs. No problem with scheduling refs.
  • Team composition. Teams, especially those in the Over 50 division should make every effort to abide by the age eligibility rules when signing new players. Chairman to place a newspaper add for over 50 players.
  • Pre-season tournament and social. Although this was discussed at the AGM there is some confusion about who is organizing it. Teams will be informed if an organizer and location is found.
  • Injured Players Fund. No claims from the tournament.
  • Team fees. Motion: A $100 tournament fee, to be paid by all teams, be added to the team fees. Teams entering the Bill Drew Memorial Tournament may claim a $100 credit. Motion passed 17 to 1

5) REPORTS

  • Team fees should be paid ASP
  • CHAIRMAN Peter Denby
  • Team registration and contact list will be circulated with the schedule.
  • Player registration Teams should submit their player list ASP
  • Schedule.
  • Fields - negotiations are in progress with the City of Victoria to obtain field time. Sch. Board Fields – Sat. Arbutus, Sun. Vic High. UVic Artifical Turf Sun 8pm.
  • Schedule will start Sept 15th.
  • Executive
  • Peter Denby, Blair Allaby, Gary Garraway, Peter Songhurst plus one to be co-opted if required.
  • Injured Players Fund Committee

7)  REFEREES Peter Songhurst anticipates a strong pool of refs.

8)  HISTORICAL RECORD Gary Garraway
  • Submit material to Gary.

9)   NEW BUSINESS

                    Bill Drew Memorial Tournament April 9th. 10th at Blue Heron

                    Motion submitted by a Castaways player: A method of distinguishing over                     50 players be devised in order to reduce the chance of injury.

                      No seconder so motion not discussed

                      AGM in April
